About Mercapital
N+1 Mercapital is the result of the merger of N+1 Private Equity and Mercapital, two of the most experienced private equity firms in Spain, which have joined forces in order to reinforce their international expansion. The new firm is the undisputed leader of the Spanish private equity market with more than €1.1bn of assets under management and a team of 28 professionals that currently manages a portfolio of 22 companies. Since its origins in 1985, N+1 Mercapital has invested in 106 transactions (and completed more than 80 add-ons) and has disinvested in 84 of them.
The investment rationale consists of supporting Spanish middle market companies to expand internationally, especially to Latin America. To achieve this goal, it leverages on its presence in Latin America (Sao Paulo, Mexico and Bogota), as well as the N+1 Group’s offices in the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg and Turkey.
N+1 Mercapital seeks leading companies in their respective sectors or niches, with top-notch management teams, stable cash flows, competitive advantages exportable to other markets and companies pursuing growth strategies to international markets to benefit from the potential offered by emerging economies. It operates by taking majority or minority but control stakes, originating proprietary dealflow and with an active management approach. All of this can be achieved thanks to its extensive industry experience and capabilities of the management team.
