The first month of 2017 does not point to the end of the Brazilian recession. According to a report published by Transactional Track Record, in partnership with LexisNexis, Merrill Corporation and Tozzini Freire, 69 transactions were registered in January, a reduction of 17% compared to 2016. On the other hand, 23 transactions had their value disclosed, which means R$ 25 billion, an expressive increase of 246% over the same period. This amount is due to the conclusion of CPFL's acquisition by the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). The operation started last July. The deal value was R$ 17 billion.
