The Chilean transactional market was particularly dynamic in 2014. A total of 189 deals were registered, which represents a 4% increase compared with the previous year. On the other hand, the investment volume increased by 62% compared with 2014, and generated USD 28.54bn.
Among the largest deals, highlights include the acquisition by Italy-based Enel of Endesa’s Latin American assets, held by Enersis Chile and Endesa Latinoamérica. The deal value was USD 10.46bn. Furthermore, an important deal was registered in the electric energy sector. Spain-based Gas Natural Fenosa acquired Chile-based CGE, for USD 3.18bn.
