In the first semester of 2015, the Chilean transactional market was particularly active, with 89 deals registered. This represents an 8.5% increase compared with the same period last year. The investment volume generated in the first six months of the year was approximately USD 3.68bn, compared with approximately USD 9.94bn in 2014. Nevertheless, some relevant deals were recorded. Highlights include the acquisition by Colombia-based Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) of Chile-based Aguas de Antofagasta (ADASA), for approximately USD 965m.
By countries and in terms of number of deals: Chile was the fourth most active country, preceded by Brazil, with 457, Mexico (167) and Colombia (96).
