SPAIN
According to Transactional Track Record's monthly M&A Report, Spain's mergers and acquisitions market closed January 2020 with 34 transactions and a moved capital of EUR 3.78bn. The report also provides a complete analysis about the most prominent transactions of the cross-border segment, as well as the market's most active sectors, which shows Real Estate remains as the sector with the highest number of deals, with 134 transactions. Meanwhile, both the Private Equity and Venture Capital segments registered a downturn regarding both number of deals and moved capital, comparing with the previous year. The league tables in the last pages of the report reflect the activity of the legal and financial advisors, based on transactions announced in 2020.
PORTUGAL
According to Transactional Track Record's January M&A Report, 2020 begins with a 34.62% decrease in the number of transactions, compared with January 2019. The same type of analysis is available on the pages allocated to Private Equity and to Venture Capital, which show 2020 starts with little dynamism, along with figures of the sectors that attracted more investments. Meanwhile, the section dedicated to the cross-border segment presents the most appealing sectors for foreign capital, as well as the country of origin of those investments.
