In January 2016, the Mexican transactional market registered a total of 16 mergers and acquisitions, both announced and closed, generating an aggregate value of approximately USD 3.5bn. Both the number of transactions and its aggregate value were lower than in January 2015. Out of these 16 deals, two correspond to the high-end market in deal size (>USD 500m), two to the mid-market (between USD 100m and USD 500m) and five to the smaller market (less than USD 100m). The deal value of remaining seven transactions was not disclosed.
