US Department of Transportation confirms approval of Aeroméxico-Delta Air Lines alliance

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) confirmed its approval of the alliance between airlines Grupo Aeroméxico (BMX:AEROMEX.MX), based in Mexico City, and Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), based in Georgia, announced Aeroméxico in a filing published by the Mexican Stock Exchange on 15 December 2016. Specifically, the DOT decided to reduce the number of slots both airlines have to give up, a matter which had caused the disconformity of Aeroméxico (see related intel). The entity reduced from six to a maximum of four the pairs of slots to be handed over by the airlines at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport: two in 2017 and up to two in 2018. The condition for Mexico City's Benito Juarez International Airport remains the same, 24 slots, but it will also be done in two stages: 14 in 2017 and 10 in 2018.

El Departamento de Transporte de Estados Unidos ha confirmado su aprobación de la alianza entre las aerolíneas Grupo Aeroméxico (BMX:AEROMEX.MX), con sede en la Ciudad de México, y Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), con sede en Georgia, ha anunciado Aeroméxico en un hecho relevante publicado por la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores el 15 de diciembre de 2016. En concreto, el Departamento de Transporte ha decidido reducir la cantidad de slots que ambas aerolíneas deben ceder y que había causado la disconformidad de Aeroméxico (ver intel relacionado). El organismo ha reducido de seis a un máximo de cuatro pares de slots los que deben ceder en el Aeropuerto Internacional John F. Kennedy de Nueva York: dos en 2017 y hasta dos en 2018. La condición para el Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez de la Ciudad de México se mantiene igual, 24 slots, pero también se hará en dos etapas: 14 en 2017 y 10 en 2018. |
