The law firms PLMJ and Vieira de Almeida (VdA) provide legal advice on the State's acquisition of 72,5% of TAP, an operation that was chosen by the international directory Transactional Track Record (TTR) as the business of the month of October Portugal (“Deal of the Month").

PLMJ provided legal advice to Atlantic Gateway (David Neeleman) in the sale of 22,5% of the airline's capital for 55 million euros to the Portuguese State, which now holds this position through the General Directorate of the Treasury.

VdA, on the other hand, supported the State in the purchase of an additional 22,5% of TAP's share capital, which meant that, together with the 50% interest already held by Parpública, the Portuguese State started to directly and indirectly hold a stake in 72,5% in the company. The office led by João Vieira de Almeida also advised the Portuguese State in its request for state aid, in the maximum amount of 1,2 million euros - authorized by the European Commission on June 10, 2020 - which took the form of an emergency loan granted to the air carrier.
