TTR reports 52% growth in brazilian transactions
The Brazilian transactional market recorded a total of 1453 transactions and moved BRL 331.2bn through August, according to the monthly Transactional Track Record report.
The figures represent a 52% increase in the number of transactions compared to the same period in 2020.
The report data says that so far, August is the most active month of the year, with 232 mergers and acquisitions.
US companies have increased their acquisitions in the Brazilian market by 91% and remain the most sought-after destination for domestic investors.
Transaction Activity
The Technology sector remains the most active for the year, with a total of 547 transactions, representing a 78% increase over the same period in 2020. In second place is the Finance and Insurance sector, with 265 transactions.
In Private Equity, 84 transactions were booked for a total of BRL 34.2 billion through August, registering a 9% increase in the number of transactions compared to the same period in 2020.
In Venture Capital, there were 416 transactions, moving BRL 40.7 billion in capital, resulting in a 56% increase in the number of transactions.
In Asset Acquisitions, 137 transactions were recorded for a total of BRL 69bi through August, representing a 6% decrease in the number of transactions compared to the same period last year.
