The Latin American transactional market closed the first semester with a 40% drop in the amount

The transactional market in Latin America registered a 40% drop in the amount of its operations in the first half of the year, reaching 50,094 million dollars (48,936 million euros), while the number of ‘deals’ remained stable in 1,621, according to a Transactional Track Record report released Tuesday in collaboration with Datasite and AON.

The ‘private equity’ segment closed June with 83 operations, of which 33 transactions have an aggregate non-confidential amount of 4,711 million dollars (4,602 million euros), which represents a 14% decrease in the number of transactions and a decrease of 47% in the amount of these.

As for the ‘venture capital’, in the first half of the year 528 transactions were carried out, of which 425 operations have a non-confidential amount that add up to around 5,619 million dollars (5,481 million euros), which represents a 9% increase in the number of transactions and a 34% decrease in mobilized capital.
