Aeroméxico-Delta Air Lines alliance receives tentative US approval

The US Department of Transportation approved, with conditions, the alliance between airlines Grupo Aeroméxico (BMX:AEROMEX.MX), based in Mexico City, and Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), based in Georgia, announced Aeroméxico in a filing published by the Mexican Stock Exchange on 4 November 2016. Specifically, the Department of Transportation requested the airlines divest enough take-off and landing authorizations to allow the introduction of 24 new daily flights at Mexico City's Benito Juarez International Airport and six new flights in New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. These slots will be transferred to Mexico- and US-based low-cost airlines for international services. Thus, new competitive entries will be allowed at these airports.

El Departamento de Transporte de Estados Unidos ha aprobado con condiciones la alianza entre las aerolíneas Grupo Aeroméxico (BMX:AEROMEX.MX), con sede en la Ciudad de México, y Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL), con sede en Georgia, ha anunciado Aeroméxico en un hecho relevante publicado por la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores el 4 de noviembre de 2016. En concreto, el Departamento de Transporte ha solicitado que las aerolíneas se deshagan de una cantidad suficiente de autorizaciones de despegue y aterrizaje para permitir la introducción de 24 nuevos vuelos diarios desde el Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez de la Ciudad de México y seis vuelos diarios desde el Aeropuerto Internacional John F. Kennedy de Nueva York. Esos puestos deberán ser entregados a aerolíneas mexicanas y estadounidenses de bajo costo para servicios internacionales. De esta manera, podrán haber nuevas entradas competitivas a esos aeropuertos. |
