Investment in venture capital in LatAm falls 54% in the second quarter of 2022 vs 2021
The caution in the flow of venture capital is already reflected in the data provided by the analysis of Transactional Track Record (TTR) of the second quarter of 2022. Startups from Latin America received 54.7% less capital than last year in the same period.
According to the TTR report that includes all the transactions that have been carried out in Latin America in the first half of 2022, in the second quarter of the current year, US$2,426 million dollars were invested in Latin American startups compared to the US$5,353 million that were invested in the same period of 2021a record year in investment.
It is important to remember that last year was historic in terms of venture capital investments, as these reached US$15.7 billiontriple what had been captured in Latin America in 2020, where an investment of US$4 billion was reported, according to data from the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA).
