Ejaso celebrates its 40th anniversary

Ejaso celebrates its 40th anniversary with a revenue of €23.6 million, a robust presence across Spain and Portugal, and a strategic focus on specialization and international growth. Starting with a focus on the hydrocarbon sector, it was founded in 1984 by four pioneering partners. By the 1990s, the firm rebranded to Ejaso and expanded its expertise to cover crucial middle market areas like Commercial and Tax Law. Over the past decade, the firm has transitioned its leadership, establishing a Management Committee in 2022.

Today, the firm’s board is comprised of founding partner and chairman Alfredo Hernández Pardo, alongside José Luis de Navasqüés, Gonzalo Grandes, Juan Enrique Altimis, and Manuel González-Haba.

As the firm celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024, it boasts a team of 250 professionals and a revenue of €23.6 million across Spain and Portugal. This represents a 7.4% increase from the previous year and places the law firm among the top 20 national law firms by revenue. The firm’s commitment to growth and specialization has enabled it to double its business volume in just seven years. Juan Enrique Altimis, head of the Tax department, highlights that the goal is not merely achieving revenue targets but also “improving profitability through the use of technology, optimized knowledge management, training, and specialization.”

Regarding its strategic plan, crafted by its executive committee, focuses on consolidating its position as a national leader in the middle market. Manuel González-Haba, head of the Commercial department, emphasizes this strategic direction.

In response to evolving client needs, the firm has formed specialized teams in recent years. Notable units include the Fundamental Rights unit led by former Constitutional Court magistrate María Emilia Casas, and the Innovative Business and Venture Capital unit, which supports cutting-edge business models. The firm’s Capital Markets unit assists SMEs in entering BME Growth, a Spanish stock market for the middle market.

Ejaso’s prowess in Venture Capital transactions has earned it a top 10 ranking in Spain, according to Transactional Track Record (TTR). José Luis de Navasqüés, head of the Banking area and executive committee member, stresses the importance of specialized units in delivering high-quality services in a complex regulatory environment.

The firm’s extensive presence, with nine offices in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, A Coruña, Córdoba, Valencia, Vigo, Sevilla, and Zaragoza, positions it among the top 10 law firms in Andalusia by revenue. Ejaso’s national reach is enhanced by its international perspective, supported by its French desk, European partnerships, and the Latin American Legal Alliance (ALL).
